Patricia Foy Cross joined the firm in February 2004, concentrating in the area of commercial and class action litigation. Previously Ms. Cross was in private practice with Lord, Bissell & Brook in Chicago, as a trial attorney focusing on insurance coverage and tort defense cases in the areas of aviation accident and railroad liability, and representing insurers including certain Underwriters at Lloyd's of London. Ms. Cross has also served as an arbitrator (chair-qualified) in the Illinois Supreme Court's Cook County Mandatory Arbitration Program since its inception nearly ten years ago, and has served as a Legal Writing Instructor at Loyola University of Chicago's School of Law.

After obtaining her B. A. degree in English from The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg in 1973, Ms. Cross graduated from Syracuse University College of Law in 1976, a member of the Justinian Honorary Law Society. While on the Syracuse Law Review, Ms. Cross published "People v. Silver: Burden of Persuasion and Presumption of Sanity in New York Law," and served as that journal's Research Editor from 1975-76.

Ms. Cross was admitted to practice before the Illinois Supreme Court and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in 1976, and to the Northern District's federal trial bar in 1983. In August of 1994, Ms. Cross was also admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court.

Previously, Ms. Cross has served as a member of the Boards of Directors of the Barrington Youth Services and the Barrington Area Historical Society, and as a member of the committee appointed by the Village of Harrington to draft that community's first public ethics ordinance. While raising her four children in Barrington, Ms. Cross has been actively involved in fundraising for local charities, supporting area historic-preservation efforts, volunteering in the schools and coaching children's sports.
