Mr. Barber is a founding partner in the firm and has been in private practice for over 20 years. During that time he has concentrated his practice in representing those who are injured at work or who are injured through the negligence of others. He has obtained substantial verdicts and settlements on behalf of his clients.
Scott received his law degree in 1984 from Valparaiso University where he was a member of the School's National Mock Trial Team. He is licensed to practice law both by the Illinois Supreme Court and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in 1984. He is also admitted to the Federal Trial Bar. He has also served the Circuit Court of Cook County Illinois as an arbitrator (chair qualified) in the Court's Mandatory Arbitration Program.
Mr Barber is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the Illinois Worker's Compensation Lawyers Association, the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, and the American Trial Lawyers Association. He is also a very active member of the Northwest Suburban Bar Association where he serves as its Treasurer. He has also served as its Secretary; has been a member of its Board of Governors; and has been the co-chair of its Civil Litigation Committee.
Mr. Barber was an adjunct professor of English at Harper College where he taught legal writing to students enrolled in the college's paralegal program. He has also presented several lectures on the areas of Worker's compensation and handling personal injury cases to other attorneys.
